Uncle Nearest Whiskey was co-founded by Fawn Weaver from her desire to give credit where credit was due. Nathan “Nearest” Green was the first African-American master distiller on record in the United States. Uncle Nearest, as he was affectionately called, has been credited with teaching Jack Daniel how to make whiskey. And we know what happened from there…
Uncle Nearest Whiskey has three different offerings: 1820 which is aged a minimum of 11 years, 1856 Premium Aged which is aged between 8 and 14 years, and the 1884 Small Batch. Next time you are in the mood for a “Jack & Coke”, replace that Jack with Uncle Nearest!
