Michael Strahan has partnered with JcPenney to launch his MSX active wear clothing line. This spotlight speaks not to the quality of the product - which I can't speak to yet - but rather to diversification. From football to daytime TV to writing a book to a clothing line, Michael Strahan is giving us a good example of how to "not put all your eggs in one basket".
With regards to the MSX brand, Strahan is staying in his lane by offering clothing that he spent most of his life wearing. Will this be the next Under Armor...we'll just have to wait and see.
Of course you know that Sean John is owned by Sean Combs a.k.a. Puffy a.k.a. Puff Daddy a.k.a. P-Diddy a.k.a Diddy. Sean John has evolved way past the days of just making hip-hop inspired gear. The biggest expansion for me personally has been Sean John getting into men's formal wear. Even though I have only been able to find them at Macy's, I have no problem wearing his suits, ties and shirts. They haven't forgotten their roots because you can still get your jeans, sweaters, watches or t-shirts.
Sean Combs is a great example of success. Because of his business acumen, he has been able to seriously consider purchasing an NFL franchise. As we continue to circulate the dollars within our community, we may be responsible for creating more stories like Diddy's.
Tiki Clothing Company is a Florida based apparel company that was started by Javaris Neely. I watched this company launch its first pair of shoes - the WaveRunner - that was inspired by vacationers on the beaches of South Florida, Hawaii and California. Tiki has now expanded to watches, slides, sports bras and more.
We know that the clothing and shoe industry are very competitive so this Brother can use all the help he can get. Show your support by placing your next order with Tiki Clothing Company!
Mark Stoddard is the founder of Live It Wear It which is based out of Toronto. His collection is shared with Dr. John Carlos' line. If you don't recognize Dr. Carlos by name, you definitely recognize him from his raised black fist demonstration at the 1968 Olympics!
I met Mark at a Black Friday/Black Saturday event hosted by The Village Market last year. What blew me away about his designs was how he utilized the underside of the brim of the hat as a canvas. You have to check it out for yourself!
I first ran across this company on Instagram and followed them on the spot. Having recently met the owner at a networking event, I can assure you that he is as sharp as the picture! Bespokuture owner Omar S. Kinnebrew works passionately.
OSK Styles carries everything from custom shoes to monogrammed jeans. If you're ready to step your game up, check out Bespokuture today!
