Established in 1947, Busy Bee's soul food has attracted celebrity Chef and Restauranteur Emeril Lagasse. You've surely heard that a dollar circulates in the Black community for only 6 hours - even though it's estimated that we have well over $1 Trillion in buying power!
My personal database of Black-owned Businesses grows every time I am exposed to another business. This exposure can come through personal networking, colleague referrals, social media or Google searches.
I am often asked "What do you plan to do with this database?" The short answer has always been that I refer to it personally before spending any of my own dollars. I also serve as a resource for others who are serious about spending money in our community first.
Now that my database is approaching 500 entries, I want to share the company information with you on a regular basis. If you are aware of a Black-owned business that I can share with others, please let me know. The only criteria is that the company has to be at least 51% Black-owned. I will only share public information such as website url, address, phone number, etc.
The first company I want to highlight is Le Petite Marche, which is owned by Marchet Sparks. It translates to "The Little Market" and is a great spot for entertaining clients and colleagues. The restaurant is located in the Kirkwood section of East Atlanta. Make sure to check it out and show our Sister some support!
